End of the Year Post

Every year I usually make a ridiculous list of resolutions and goals that I want to accomplish, very specific things. However this year, at the beginning of the year, I had just recently returned home from Cambodia and that shifted my priorities.

This year, for 2015, it was a fairly short and simple list.

  1. Give More
  2. Do More
  3. See More
  4. Learn More

As we are nearing the end of 2015, I am very happy to have been able to accomplish this list of resolutions.

1. This year Brittany and I were able to give way more our time and finances. We gave to our careers, our church, our friends and family and to those less fortunate.

2. Do more, this is a fairly vague resolution but when I wrote it down at the beginning of the year my intentions for it was to do more unselfish things, do more for others. I believe I accomplished this a few times, but going to Ethiopia had to be my biggest Do More this year. Getting to love, serve and build with Make Your Mark Ministries was an incredible experience and I can't wait to Do More with them next year.

3. This one took me by surprise, I didn't expect to travel as much as we did this year. Going to the Biltmore Estate for the first time in February, multi-day backpacking trip in May, traveled to France at the end of June into July, traveled to Ethiopia in August, and then in September went to Niagara Falls. It was a great year for travel and I hope this upcoming year will be just as adventurous.

4. I have learned so much this year. It was a struggle, but I learned a lot about myself, about Brittany and my passions as a photographer. I started to focus more on learning my craft and other ways to create images to help myself stand out. As well as learning a lot about traveling and other cultures.

What I have come to realize is that this small list should be my resolutions every year, I should never not be giving more, doing more, seeing more or learning more. I need to always be pushing myself just slightly more than the previous year. So with 2016 just two days away, my resolutions for 2016 will stay the same. I can't wait to see how much more of myself I can give this year, how much more I can do this year for others, the places I will see and experience, and all the new things I will learn along the way.

It's going to be a great year, if not the best one yet and I can't wait to experience it. If you wanna be there for the ride, be sure to follow my blog or my other social media outlets.
