** UPDATE / January, 29th 2016 **
A couple great friends of mine, Aaron and Allison, bought the film I had listed in the wish list. Thanks so much to you guys and for believing in me to capture these stories in Ethiopia!!
At the end of March, my wife and I will be leaving the country for a little over a week. Destination? Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. While we are in the capital city of Ethiopia, we will be working along side the Charlotte based non-profit Make Your Mark.
Some of you may remember, that last year I went in August to document the work they do. It was a life changing experience and I knew that I had to go back and bring my wife with me this time.
Brittany was called to lead the street kids in doing some art expression classes. These kids while on the streets do not have the normal life of a child, they do not get to draw or paint. They do not get to play games, etc... While on the streets, all they have to think about is surviving.
As for me, when I found out we were going back. I had a strong pull on my heart to create a photo series documenting their way of life on the streets. To show what they truly go through during the days and nights of being a street kid. These are the forgotten and unseen kids of the world. I will be focusing on making them become seen again. For me to be able to do that, I will need your help. I plan on photographing this project on film with a Mamiya 7 camera. I prefer this way of creating the images because of the more raw and natural look you get with film.
How can you help? I have created a Wish List on the website B&H Photo Video, where I usually buy my film. If you'd like to donate film to my purpose of this trip please visit this link and there you can pick which film you'd like to buy for me and ship it to my address.
